Hi, I’m Ana
I’m a project manager, a parent, and an expat living in Lisbon, Portugal.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Portugal wasn't part of the long-term plan. Like many expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, fresh expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more convoluted than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of hands-on learning. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt secure.
Why I Built Calm Trail Parlor
Most online guidance hovered between corporate relocation tips or shallow tourism content. What was lacking was a truthful, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical advice drawn from real-life experiences in Portugal.
The Nature of This Site (What It Does and Does Not)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in Portugal
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated when a real change occurs
This site is not:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Moving Forward
Our time in Portugal continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in Lisbon or anywhere in Portugal, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
Ana
